Flowers are 4x6 oil on panel
trees 5x7 oil on panel
8x10 portrait of a woman's mother when she was young. Really had a good time with this one. This picture was about 1 inch x 1 inch and took a lot of concentration and time but it was so worth it. the picture is also cut off on the side so I kind of had to improvise and finish the right end of the picture (mostly the hair) since that is what my client wanted.
Really been busy. Have more I need to show but for now this is going to have to work.
See you at the market tomorrow! Let's just hope it doesn't rain.

Thursday, September 18, 2008

Did this for a co-worker of mine of him and his wife. LOVED working with the texture in his outfit from the suit to the shirt to the tie! So fun! Plus, working with glasses was much more enjoyable than I anticipated.
What do you guys think?

TREEES

I'm on a tree high ok!?!?
Anyway, there is more to come but they are all kind of half to 3/4ths done so I didnt want to put them up like that. Let me know if you like the trees.
I've developed a really big infatuation with trees and They are so great to paint. And concidering all I want to do my whole life is live in a villa in Tuscany, Italy... these trees would be in the field right next to my imaginary villa and so I paint them.
Yeah too much. Cry about it.

Though I lied, you should still remember how cool you really think I am and forgive.

Healthy Roots.
16x20 Oil on canvas

(sorry about the nasty flash but its a little dark!)
The Lone One. 12x24 Oil on canvas.

Windy. 5x7 oil on panel.

Cliques.5x7 oil on panel.

Separation. 5x7 oil on panel (there is another one that goes with this one but I'm not done.)

Commission Painting

So here is a little sketch I did of my new commission piece I am starting on this week. Pretty challenging and exciting to start this piece, since I haven't worked with animals much. They are beautiful dogs though so they will make it easy to do a good job. I also like the fact that their hair is very crazy and so fun. It will allow me to have a good time painting instead of sweating over tiny little hairs. whew! Anyway, just wanted to share with you what one of my next projects is!
Enjoy my friends!

Father's Day

Ok so here is a charcoal I did about a month ago for someone. She bought it as a Father's Day gift to her husband. Hope you like it. This little girl had the funniest little face in the world.

I just wanted to tell you guys that this weekend went super great! I sold 8 pieces while at the Arts and Crafts Market and I am thinking of maybe doing it more than just once a month! Thank you all you friends and family who came to support! It would not have been the same without you! All of you who were unable to come this time, MAKE SURE to come next time I am there or we are no longer friends! haha.
Anyway, hope you guys liked what you saw and that you will continue to like it as I make more pieces!
I will let you guys know if I end up showing my art at the Market more than once a month!
Happy monday!

Here are some! The ones of the flowers I had showed you before but weren't finished. The sunset, I framed.... You like? and then theres the one of the flowers in the bright orange pot... me not like so much. You?

Then there is Bob. Bob and I have been together for a long time, and it was made on wood panel and he's been through a lot with me but I am finally going to sell him if anyone will take him. He likes long walks on the beach, candlelit dinners, and hot women.

Enjoy.

I did this one a couple of months ago for a woman at James's work. The more I look at it, I start getting nervous ticks and what not because I cant correct things. But overall I dont think I did such a bad job.

sorry about the beautiful pieces of paper on the side. haha. Trying to not tear the paper. :)
this one is an odd size. I think its like 19 1/2 x 25 or something.
Charcoal.

CANDELARIA of the Southwestern Tribes

A couple of months ago, we went to MOAB with my husband's family and one night James and I decided to go explore the streets. In our exploring, I found a post card of a indian woman. Her look was so intense that I bought it just so I could have it.

I stayed home from work today, because I had a REALLY rough night, but I finally felt a little better a couple of hours ago and decided to do something to distract myself.

While thinking of things to do, she came to my mind and I really wanted to draw her.

She makes me want to be some type of super woman.

NEW ONES

Ok, so AS PROMISED, I am here with an update on what has been keeping me reeeally busy. Sorry that some of the pictures are kind of blurry, but I took them quickly so that I could share them with you!

These are some of my newest paintings that I hope to sell at the Arts and Crafts Market. PLEASE give me your opinion on what you like and what you dont like (be gentle) to see which ones I should make sure to put up at the market and which ones to maybe keep at home!
Oh and the one with the black and red and all the weird things going on was just an experiment, but thought it was kind of cool looking. You like?

Anyway, I will have some more hopefully later this week, and I will have the last painting that I posted on here done.
ENJOY!

I am getting ready to show my stuff at the Arts and Crafts Market in SLC on July 19th so life has been a little bit out of control trying to get a lot of pieces done and trying to get myself together.
I hope you can forgive me!

I will be back soon! Promise!

A Mother's Kiss

18x24 charcoal on paper.

Bottles

Charcoal on paper. I think it is 18x24. Beautiful piece.

Abstract Sunshine

Here is a really cool piece I love! This prisma done on paper I texturized myself. It is beautiful and so abstract.

Marilyn.

Another older piece. Acrylic. I have always liked this picture so I took it into my own hands to have one just like it.
16x20

My Freedom.

This a very old piece. Every time I look at it, I find new things to correct on it. And I dont. Anyway, I was learning about women in the middle east and I dont know how they do it.
24x36

Dinner

This is a Christmas present to my parents. Acrylic. Not my favorite but I dont think it turned out too bad. Needs some work on some of the colors but thought I would post it anyway.
24x36.

Knife technique.

Has to be one of my very favorites! Still life I completed a couple of months ago. I need to do more knife. Seriously, next one I'm doing knife.

Dont you just feel the light bulb on this piece. I love feeling things when I look at art.

16x20. Oil.

The Widow.

This is a little experiment I did. I got a couple of pieces and combined them together and made another composition. I wanted her to be thoughtful, even a little sad.
Doesnt she just make you want to sit and think about sad things?

Tuscan Getaway

I wanted to make something colorful and vibrant and intense. Plus it was the middle of the dead winter and I was wishing I were somewhere warm, where flowers were blooming (or bloomed) and the sun was shinning.
Someday, I'll get to actually go there.
16x20, Oil.

Julie's Flowers

I made this for my sister in law, Julie, for her birthday. It was very simple and I used acrylics which was the best because it dried really quickly and I had to get it done fast. This was a 16x20.

This was a piece I entered into the Taylorsville Art Show earlier this year and got 1st place! Go angry homeless man. This man has the most intense look ever. I wish he could see the end result of this photograph-gone-charcoal.

Someday, maybe.

Alexis is her name.

This is the last charcoal I did for someone at Jame's work. This was an 18x24. I wish her eyes would have been opened in this one, looking at the camera. I love drawing eyes.
Enjoy.
