Ballerina

This is a commission painting I just finished last week. It is a 20x20 oil on canvas.

I really enjoyed working with the human figure, even though I don't usually work with it much. It a very expressive piece and I really love the motion in this piece.

This is basically an copy of a beautiful painting by Renata Brzozowska. I usually don't really like copying the exact composition, but it was so beautiful I had to do the same as the original. I did try and make my strokes different, and worked in my own style, but I don't want to take credit for the composition itself.

Sunday Afternoon

I finished this painting about a month ago but have not had the chance to put it up on the blog. It is a 16X20, oil on canvas. It was a really fun project, and I was able to experiment with a lot of colors that I sometimes tend to go without. It started as an abstract painting but I was not completely satisfied with the end result so I kept on experimenting. In the end, I just went with a picture from my imagination and converted this painting into something a little more impressionistic. I have really enjoyed working with a cooler palette and will probably continue to make pieces that are cooler in color. Blue Pot

Hi everyone! It's been forever since I last updated this blog but it's been for a good reason.
February was the last time I wrote and around that time I was dealing with a lot from health problems, to school starting, to a lot going on at work.
and now, I'm pregnant to top it all off!!

But really, things are a lot less hectic around here lately and I have been able to complete two paintings in the last 3 weeks. It's been really nice getting back into the groove of painting and I'm hoping I continue to paint throughout this pregnancy. So you will be seeing a lot more of me around here.
